So this is so someday I can look back and remember, if you aren't into this, don't read it. But I think these are pretty cute. Some happened in English some in Japanese.

* Daddy: Daddy is happy,
Timmy: Timmy happy too. (this is cute to me because he figured out "too" from his own observations.

*Timmy: I love Milk. (random quote from a 2 year old)

*Timmy tripped over his tickle me Elmo, and Elmo's hand ended up on Timmy's leg. Timmy angrily replied, "Elmo punched!" and then punched Elmo in the stomach. I told him not to punch Elmo and he immediately began rubbing Elmo's stomach saying, "Sorry Elmo".

*Timmy was getting busted by his Mommy for something and he said "Mommy's cute, huh?" (in japanese)

*Timmy was reaching towards me to reach for something, and I took his hand and gave him a handshake to which he replied, "Nice to meet you." Neither Shoko nor I had taught him that.

*Timmy has had an ear infection lately and on his most recent trip to the ear doctor, when he went into the doctor's room and saw the doctor, he quickly covered his ears and shouted, "Timmy's ears are ok!!!" (in japanese, and yes in the third person.)

*Daddy was watching Timmy one afternoon when Timmy asked Daddy if we could have "Mickey-Donald's" (Mcdonald's in case you have trouble with 2 year old speak), to which Daddy replied, "You have to ask Mommy when she gets home" Timmy began repeating, "ask mommy, ask mommy." then a few minutes later on his own he concluded, "Mommy said No."

*We live on the fourth floor so there are a lot of stairs, so often times Timmy will wrap his arms around my legs and say, "Hold me please." to which I would replay, "Are you a Lazy guy?" Well we were walking to his school this morning and Timmy wrapped around my legs and said, "Hold me please, Timmy Yazy.(lazy)"

Timmy was climbing onto Shoko's stomach, and Shoko told Timmy to be carefull, there is a baby on that, so then in a cutesy way he said "Hi Baby. Did I hurt you?" and then proceeded to sing a song about being sorry to the baby.

The Last day of our first trip to Tokyo

Tokyo Part 2 Yokohama

So after Nikko we went to Yokohama were the Temples are more Japanese style.I personally like these ones better, more calm looking. The Chinese style is more detailed, but I think they area little cheesy, which is why I prefer these. Unfortunately Shoko is sleeping so I cant name these untill later.

Tokyo Part 1 and Nikko

This last weekend we took our first trip to Tokyo.

After we got to Tokyo it was off to the trains (I think we averaged about 5 trains a day)

Shoko and Timmy on the train to Nikko. Nikko is about a 2 1/2 train ride north of Tokyo. Famous for it's hot springs.

At the traditional Hotel we stayed at they had these Yukatas (traditional Japanese clothing worn around the house). When in Rome...... They are very comfortable, I may even buy some.

The local Grocery store had horse rides for kids and Timmy loves animals, so we took him for a ride. It was funny because he was scared and crying until the horse started walking, then he started laughing and loving it.

Christmas part 1

We are going to do our Christmas presents tonight, but I wanted Timmy to have something to open Christmas morning, so we gave him this drum set, and he loved it and was rocking out. I will do more another time with all things Christmas and whatnot, but all of my family are together in arizona and I wanted to give them something to see of little Timmy. And to all you naysayers that are thinking, "I can't believe you were stupid enough to give a little kid a drumset, don't you realize how noisy it will be?" my response is that he already makes the noise, he loves noise and at least this noise isnt destructive on our apt. and property. Anyway Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to everyone.

Chuck the turtle's terrifying ordeal.

I know this site is usually about the exploits of my handsome little Timmy, but yesterday our pet turtle Chuck gave us (and himself I'm sure) a big scare. Well anyway we bought Chuck a little over a year ago when he was about an inch long, to introduce Timmy to animals, and over the last year he has been a really fun little pet. It's actually one of Timmy's "chores" to feed Chuck (That and he is in charge of picking the cherry tomatoes, two jobs he does with pride). Well every week we clean out Chuck's tank (another job Timmy helps with), and we let Chuck roam the little shoe area in the entrance of the house. Well usually that is no problem, except that yesterday some furniture recycler guys (no idea what you would call them) came to pick up some furniture that we were getting rid of. Well when they left, they left the door open, allowing Chuck to go outside. The biggest problem with this is that we live on the fourth floor of our apartment. Chuck crawled out the door, and through a hole designed for draining rainwater, and ended up crawling over the ledge of the drain and fell the four stories down onto concrete. Well when I noticed the door was still open I rushed over to look for Chuck, looked over the edge and saw him laying on his back motionless. I was sure he had died from the fall (still not sure how he didnt.) well on the bottom floor of our apartment is a fastfood restraunt, and Chuck had fallen into a back gated off yard area, so we went into the restaurant to ask them to retrieve the body. They went and got it for us and Chuck moved a little, which surprised us. He looked bad, not moving, his neck fully extended (he always kept most of his neck tucked in his shell) Not sure what to do we placed him on a paper towel to rest in a quiet place (thinking he was probably going to die). We called the vet who was in surgery and would have to call us back. We left Chuck in peace, and when we came back a little while later he was walking around. We finally were able to speak with the vet, and the vet told us that as long as the shell was ok, he would probably be ok. I am still keeping a close eye on the turtle. Sorry this post was soo long, i was feeling sooo bad about the whole ordeal I felt like I should at least tell Chuck's story,

Little Tim goes to the aquarium

So there is this world class aquarium in Okinawa called the Churaumi aquarium that we have annual passes for and have gone several times over the last year, but this was the first time that Timmy really got into it. The aquarium is a but of a drive for a small kid like Timmy, and what would often happen is that by the time we got there Tim would be all worn out and would generally fall asleep. On top of that the aquarium is usually pretty crowded so Tim would often get soo caught up in the crowd (the girls especially) that he didnt really notice all the tanks. This particular trip was really fun because lately Tim has been really interested in animals in general, but even more so in fishies (he pronounces it "whishies") Well Tim was super excited as he would run up to the different tanks yelling "whishies!!!" (haha i really wish i could do justice to how it is when he says it and how excited he gets, but I am not that good a writer) The protection of the earth's oceans and it's other natural resources is a very important issue for me and I am really hoping to pass on my love and passion for it on to Timmy as well, So the fact that he loved this place was very encouraging to me. By the way Amanda, I am also quite thrilled to see Kael taking an interest in it as well, keep it up, the future and whatever is left is theirs.

So even since before Timmy was born I thought it would be cool to dress up for Halloween as Elvis and a little mini Elvis, So I told my kick @$$ idea to my seamstress of a mother who ran all over town looking for an Elvis Costume for little dudes. The search for a costume however turned fruitless, untill she came across a pattern. Well She made that costume, sent it to us, and I'm still having a hard time convincing people that she made it. Needless to say people are pretty impressed, and Tim who is already a handsome devil looked just freaking awesome. Im not sure how else to put it.

SO today we went and visited the Okinawa memorial peace park today. It is basically a museum in rememberance of the battle of Okinawa, and all the people who died in it wether soldier or civilian, friend or enemy. Its basically a memorial and a plea for peace.

There isnt a whole lot of new things to say since i just posted like 3 days ago. We went up to the rental house this weekend, went to the beach, went swimming in the pool, had a good time.

Nao tenho muito a dizer agora. Neste final de semana a gente fui ao norte parte da isla para passar tempo em uma casa alugada com piscina. A gente fui para a praia tambem, muito divertido.

So lately Timmy has learned to give thumbs up, but i havent gotten a picture of that yet. He has his cool guy pose, where he will cross his arms, and his cute pose where he will put his hands over his mouth. the pictures of the poses arent great, but what is funny is he will do these poses whenever you ask. He also will clean up after himself if you tell him to, for example, he likes to be a punk and pour his milk on the floor, but if you say, "Timmy, clean it up" and throw him a rag, he will wipe it up. He also has a big box/tube thing of blocks that he likes to knock over, and if you tell him to go clean it up he will (for as long as his 16 month old attention span will allow him too anyway). He likes to put on his cool guy hat by himself (the blue hat in the other post). He also has a very assertive personality, and if he wants to go outside, he will wrap his arm around your leg and try to drag you to the front door(and if you have ever met him, you would know that he is a very strong little boy), where he will hold out his feet for you to put his shoes on. I have also learned from him that he doesnt like to have sand or dirt on his hands. We were at the beach, and he took a spill on some cement, that looked like it hurt, but Tim didnt seem to mind, that is, untill afterward when he realized that his hands were covered in sand. I have since taught him how to wipe his hands off with his pants, but before that, sand on his hands would infuriate him.

These Gorgeous snakes are called Habu, a specie of pit vipers. Super poisonous. Come on Cameron, get your but over here and lets catch some.

This weekend we went with Shoko's parent's and some of their friends where they rented this house with this pool. we had a lot of fun, but i learned the hard way that you have to take a small steps when introducing a small child to a swimming pool. Jumping into the deepend just pisses them off.

So I keep hearing that I need to create a blog so that everyone can hear how we are doing (haha specifically Timmy), So here it is. We have been in Japan for a little over a year now, and are living in Naha. Timmy is getting older and cuter everyday. He is a very bright little boy. If you ask him to touch his nose in both English, or Japanese, he can do it. If you say Konichiwa to him, he will bow. You can also ask him how old he is in either English or Japanese to which he will hold up one finger. His latest Phrase of choice is “Sgoy Ne?” (baby version of Sugoy Ne, which means cool huh? Or cool isnt it?) He says it all the time.
Shoko teaches basic computer classes to old people, and I teach English classes to everyone from little kids to adults. I don’t know what else to tell you right now, so untill next time.
